  • I think thats what I want, if the terminology is right ie animation being video etc.

What I have is a video of a street with a lorry on the right hand side of screen. The menu fades in so the still of the lorry is on the right side of the screen (this is animated intro – right?)the music will start to play and loop back to position where the fade in finishes, this pause & loop will be until a selection is made. (this part is the still – right?)

When selection is made, the lorry will drive across the screen dragging a black matt behind it to create the trasition to black effect. (this is animated out – right?) This trasition will link to selected video clip.

hopefully this is similar to what you had in mind from my previous explaination. I appreciate your help.

    many thanks

  • Thank you for your reply, the fade out menu transition makes sense (hopefully as a transition, there will not be any flicker between the paused menu and video transition)?

The pause I want to build into the menu will be until the viewer decideds to choose a film selection and not a pre-dertimined length.

This being the case, I could probably use a still image for the frist part to fade in and allow the film selection options to appear. I assume I will have to loop this ‘still’ for as long as the background music plays. I also assume the music will stop when the video transition is being played.

    many thanks

Thank you for your response, please can you explain? Do I need to open new composition and create animated text 15 times and import each one to current timeline?

The pulsating text will repeat for 15 times with 15 heatbeats.

    many thanks

Mmmm.. thanks for checking Adobe forums, I couldnt find anything there, what search string did you use?

I have also found that although Encore recognises I have a Sony DV camera attatched, it will not send to with in video out, I have read that Encore sends signal through a breakout box and not 1394 cable, is that the case.

The monitor I have referred to in previous posts was not an external monitor but the monitor on screen. I have turned down the hardware acceleration and I can now preview in monitor on screen. A message comes up which says there may be issues with subtitles but it is only in preview mode and should burn to disc ok.

I am very grateful for you help, you have cleared up two issues that I have been having headaches over for nearly 2 weeks now!

thanks again and good luck in all you do

    Thanks for testing,

I have installed the 1.5.1 update which is the latest.

I have uninstalled the software and reinstalled it. Tried it first without the update and then after updating. Tried a new project in case the one I was working on was corrupted and still no joy. I know my system is capable of doing the task as it works fine in Premiere Pro.

Cannot find anything from Adobe either!

I am using PAL settings (if it makes any difference, I know it shouldnt!) I cannot show safe area either (dont know if its connected or not)

    thanks

October 23, 2005 at 7:27 pm in reply to: How can I use a still image in the chapter menus?

This is so easy, thank you so much for the advice, it will save me hours! I had imported some stills to the project window but did not create a timeline for it. Tried both your suggestions and both are spot on, still cannot view timeline in monitor no matter how much I zoom in or out.
