    Hi all

I’m still using FCP 6.06 and when on Snow Leopard I had to switch the language every time before starting FCP to get space to work as play button (my keyboard layout). I had to choose some language and then change to my language to be effective, but since the new OSX upgrade, to Mavericks, my layout was just ignored.

There’s how I fixed it, in system preferences, choose keyboard and create a new one (I’ve created British) and now I can change between my country keyboard (Portuguese) that’s not working in FCP 6 and the British keyboard – that works perfectly in FCP with all my shortcuts.

The one thing I lost is that in the system, like writing emails I have to change to Portuguese keyboard in the Finder bar at the top right (where the flags appear) to get my language special characters, but everything still works in FCP 6. So in FCP, I use the British keyboard and in the system and other apps I work with Portuguese, just have to click in the top right corner to swap keyboard, this does not brings any change in FCP, even with the british selected I can use text in my language inside FCP to do text generator.

    Hope that helps
