I know that you can export an OMF but every time my editor tries the system crashes. The film is 20 minutes so it shouldn’t do this. Thoughts?

My deliverable is just a small video for an organization — they’ll probably put it online, show in forums etc. Not sure why this camera guy shot so large. MpegStreamclip does 1920x1080i but not p?

Thanks. That probably is the solution. So I can just find someone with a OS X.10 and then use Catalyst Browse or Adobe Media Encoder?

  • Thank you so much. I will rename the audio mix and reimport it. How do I change to 99%?

Also it is extra confusing because when I try to change the Easy Set Up I don’t find a match for my Aspect of HDTV 1080i(16:9) Any ideas here?

I tried just changing to NTSC Easy Set Up, creating a new sequence, bringing the old sequence into there (as one clip) and reimporting the audio. Rendering now. But I imagine your idea is better 🙂

  • This is a totally stupid question but I am confused about what Easy SetUp to change to. My settings for the sequence are as follows:

Frame Size: 1920×1080 Aspect: HDTV 1080i(16×9)
Pixel Aspect Ration: Square Field Dominance: Upper (Odd)
    Frame Rate: 29.97
    Compressor: Apple ProRes HQ
Audio Rate: 48 kHz Depth: 24-bit

The Audio Rate and Depth match the audio mix my composer created. My frame rate is 29.97 and his is 30. When I do the Matt Lyon tutorial I get a TRUE frame rate response – 30 & 30.

Any thoughts? I usually work in PAL.

  • Thanks! I tried this but when I scanned through the text file there was no discrepancy in the frame rate, it was all 30.

    Mission continues 🙂

  • Thanks so much for the advice. The mystery continues, because when checked Preferences there it said the Cache was empty and it says under Cache – insufficient free space on volume to use 10%. Is that standard?

  • Thanks Don. I did set up my preferences so that the files are saved onto my external drive. They are all there on the external drive but it is also slowly eating away at the drive space on my computer as well.
