Ingest .MXF Files
Hi All,
I am brand new to Premiere Pro — just bought CC 2017 yesterday. I am editing on a new MacBook Pro.I am just arriving into a project midway through. The footage is 4K and I wanted to create proxies. The files in the folder are: .MXF, .MXL, .BIM and .mfxfindex When I tried to ingest the whole folder I got a failure from Media Encoder. Should I just be choosing the .MXF files to ingest and make proxy?
Also, if anyone has a recommendation for a good Premiere Pro tutorial or book, please let me know!

Where did the files come from/what captured the files?

I am guessing it is trying to open the .mxfindex and failing. My FS7 shots don’t have that file, but I also tend to select the MXF to import it. In this case, you may have to too.

Try using the Media Browser. Is usually good at dealing with card structures. You can set up your ingest presets for proxies there too.
