  • Thanks, Russell! Pointing me in the right direction is much more helpful. It’s much appreciated!

    Hi Darby –

    Thanks for the reply!

I’m a 3D newbie – this is my first foray into stereoscopic work, although I’ve used AE for years…

What is this “standard stereoscopic workflow” of which you speak?

    thanks, mitch

Hi Juan – Thanks for getting back to me. I’m a newbie when it comes to 3D – this is my first dip into the pool. What in AE controls the ocular distance? The 3D Glasses? Or the Stereo 3D Controls? Am I correct in assuming that creating passive polarized output, I should make the 3D View Interlace Upper L Lower R? Or is it Side by Side?

    Thanks for the help!

Never mind – I just found CRGreen’s site and he’s got a beautifully simple solution. https://www.crgreen.com/aescripts/

    Thanks to CR!

Thanks Brian. A good idea, but I was hoping there was a simple way to copy and paste them ala Illustrator. I was hoping for a five-finger key command to do the trick.

Thanks for responding so quickly, Todd.

I’m talking about the guides that you can pull off of the ruler – the ones that don’t take up layer space in the timeline.

    Thanks again!

I wish all my art background had prepared me for a little programming.

Expressions are great when I can get ’em to work! They’re easy to conceive, but harder to code.

You are a genius! It works perfectly if I tweak the maxValue to 150.

Can you explain to me why this creates an inverse value?

    Thanks again!

    Hi Dan –

Thanks for the reply. I’m still not getting things to work. Probably because I don’t know scripting language for expressions.

When I pick whip the brightness of the second lens flare to the brightness of the first flare, I get this:

    thisComp.layer(“lensflare03″).effect(” Light Factory EZ”)(“Brightness”)

I’ve tried appending the code you sent in a variety of ways and can’t seem to get it right.

    Any more help?

    Thanks,

    Mitch

    thisComp.layer("lensflare03").effect(" Light Factory EZ")("Brightness")

  • David – There is a great reason to post in more than one place – I want to know the answer – and I’m figuring there isn’t a 100% overlap of forum attendees. Have you ever heard of anyone who advertises in just one place and then waits to see the response before advertising in a second place? Most people/companies do it in multiple places. See the ads on the sides of this forum? They appear in other places, too. I’m asking the question in two places on purpose – to get an answer ASAP. If I could think of a third or fourth place I’d ask there, too. Got an answer to the original question about numbers in that preset?
