I found that Walter Biscardi video so damn helpful, thank you.

The only thing is I don’t have all the presets he seems to have. The one that I need is Apple Pro Res.

    The footage I’m using is 1920 x 1080, 25fps, Apple Pro Res.
I’m using Final Cut Pro 6.0.

Any reason why this would be so and is there a way to get around it?

    Cheers

    Thanks guys.
Yeh the G-mobile seems to fit all those specifications James, heres a review on it by Kobler https://library.creativecow.net/kobler_helmut/g-drive/1
    Cheers mate.

Just one more thing, how much storage space will I need for say an hour of HD footage? Ive tried to do some research on the sizes of different video formats but there is so many different formats, and I’m not sure which one my camera will be shooting in. I think it is H.264, because I read an article saying that this type of video, which the my camera shoots in, needs to be compressed to MPEG2 format to edit in Final Cut.

Do you guys know of any good sites/posts that give really good explanations on the differences of the different video formats?

    Thanks heaps.

    Hey John,
Checkout https://www.digidirect.com.au, I’m looking at getting a Canon 550D, I havent done a huge amount of searching as of yet bit I was put onto this site by a friend and their prices beat others by a lot. And you can save money by just buying the body and then choosing lens separately rather than buying those in store packs.

Thanks for your info Bill, helped me as well. Can you recommend any lenses, I want to do what John wants minus the underwater, but plus shooting live music gigs.

    Cheers
