FWIW, I’m having that same issue on a project and AE was never involved. Moved projects to the new Mac Pro (cylinder), so I’m re-linking files. On one project it won’t re-link one batch of 5D camera files, even though they were copied from the machine where everything is linked just fine. I’m getting that identical message, word for word, and still haven’t come up with a solution. It’s causing us a headache as I need to work on that project.
Personally, I think there’s an underlying glitch or “factor” that we still don’t understand…

Actually, it appears to work differently. Using the MacPro HDMI, I get AV Output grayed out (unavailable) in FCP X… even with mirroring off. It basically acts like a second computer monitor.
I did discover something interesting though. Using a $25 Thunderbolt to HDMI cable (Rocketfish) that we had laying around for laptop presentations, seems to work. Plugging the HDMI monitor into the TB output makes the AV Output option in FCP active. I can then get it to work as a preview monitor without affecting the computer monitor.
It would seem to me that Apple could make the HDMI port on the new Mac Pro work this way if they wanted to. Perhaps an OS update or a minor change in FCP X to recognize the HDMI port on the new Mac Pro? This would seem to be a “no-brainer” and something Apple might want to do… and fairly quickly.

As for the Mac Pro, HDMI, haven’t gotten it to work yet. It appears to be tied to the monitor display circuit. Anything attached to it, seems to adjust the main monitor resolution as well. I may have forgotten to check the display prefs… perhaps mirroring is on… I’ll check that.

You know Charlie you’re fighting this pretty hard. I’d suggest NOT using Resolve 11 at all, and just stay with X where you’re happy…

I believe I saw them making additional folders inside it… as for sorting, I actually didn’t ask… to damn busy dealing with the shock and awe of the things it did better than FCP X…

I find when you don’t have a feature, you don’t miss it. I find having something tends to make me explore it and then I often go “wow, how’d I get by without that”?

Yep… only this doesn’t require a workaround… built in as it should be…

Media Pool is where all your media is stored. The Timeline folder stores all your timelines. Pretty intuitive, huh?
Everyone that was around me at the booth liked the idea of being able to locate timelines without having to wade through all the media clips.
Personally, I think it just makes sense… but I’m sure there are others who like their entire filing cabinet thrown into a single box…
