Are you sure about that Tony? That was how it was in the 1500, but the “A” model was supposed to have changed that? In any event, I use the same SDI out when using DVCPro anyway…

May 10, 2005 at 4:57 pm in reply to: Fonts appear in Motion, Livetype, but not Text 3D in FCP..why?Walter is probably closer to this than I, but the Title 3D plugin is from Boris who I seem to recall claim that one of their strengths is that they use Postscript fonts. In fact they rasterize text on a frame by frame basis, which is why they deliver better quality. FWIW, every font in my fonts folder ( a mix of 3 or 4 different types) shows up in Title 3D.
Maybe you have some other issue (like too many loaded or something). If it turns out it is a Postscript font issue (as Walter suggests), then convert it to a TT font…

I had that link from the beginn ing. I’m holding off on purpose, because if it doesn’t show up soon in the Software update option, then I know we have a problem there…

Glad to see that you haven’t lost your sense of humor… you didn’t even take the bait on the PC crack.
I had forgotten about the archive thing in OSX… and you’re right about Stuffit no longer being included in 10.4. We had to deal with that change almost immediately when trying to upgrade some utilities…

Not that this has anything to do with this thread, but yes… and that’s got to be the most frequently answered question for a lot of us. When they say “I lost the NTSC monitor” I always start with “Is the Log & Capture window open”? The next thing I usually get is “Oh, never mind”.
That said, there is another phantom thing going on that this thread addresses… which thankfully I don’t experience.

Zip files are an interesting choice for a Mac product? Any particular reason… and I hope it isn’t because you’re thinking of dilluting the gene pool and making PC products?

I noticed that too. There was an earlier thread from someone else having a similar problem with a missing iTunes/iPod update. Sometimes Apple is a bit late in getting things under the Software Update option. If it doesn’t show up today or tommorrow, then I’ll know that the earlier thread was right…

Yes I do and it’s working fine under 10.4. I personally do not care for the Sonnett card with the hardware raid built in. I had one and gave it away, as it gave me poorer results than their standard 133 card using Apple’s striping utility…

Try the BCC plugin for FCP. That keyer works better accidentally than the one in FCP does on purpose. I’ve keyed in three clicks using it under difficult circumstances, like black leather jackets, which tend to pick up reflected color…
