Fonts appear in Motion, Livetype, but not Text 3D in FCP..why?
Posted by Tim Danyo on May 10, 2005 at 3:40 amWhy is this? The fonts are in the Library folders and in Font Book and work in Motion, Livetype but not in Text 3D in FCP 4.5.
Something I’m missing here?Thanks,

May 10, 2005 at 11:18 amFonts need to be TrueType to work in FCP. PostScript fonts don’t work.

May 10, 2005 at 4:57 pmWalter is probably closer to this than I, but the Title 3D plugin is from Boris who I seem to recall claim that one of their strengths is that they use Postscript fonts. In fact they rasterize text on a frame by frame basis, which is why they deliver better quality. FWIW, every font in my fonts folder ( a mix of 3 or 4 different types) shows up in Title 3D.
Maybe you have some other issue (like too many loaded or something). If it turns out it is a Postscript font issue (as Walter suggests), then convert it to a TT font…

May 10, 2005 at 5:35 pmI also have a postscript font that appears everywhere, including the FCP text generator, but not in Title 3D. How would I go about converting Postscript fonts to Truetype?
Thanks,
