ok. so it just looks like 24p footage and it’s really 29.97. FCP says it’s 30p. when i use DSP to make a dvd, the image flickers when there is a camera move or lots of action.

so i tried exporting from FCP a 1080i60 format sequence. then i used compressor and kept it interlaced. the flickering is gone but i get the interlaced look on an hd flatscreen. is that the best method and image i can get?

is the only way around it to have shot originally in 1080p24A so that i can truly edit in 24fps?

correction, i meant export it 1080i60 from FCP before using compressor.

i had the same issue as the original posting. hvx200 footage was shot 1080p24 (not advanced mode). when i logged and transferred it came in at 1080p30. why, i don’t know. i used compressor and kept the video progressive. then when i made a dvd and watched it on a flat screen it flickered during camera moves. it couldn’t be watched. on my editing monitor everything looks great.

i tried some tests and the best thing i could do was export the FCP sequence as interlaced 1080i30. then used compressor leaving it interlaced and made a dvd. the flickering disappeared, but i’m left with the interlaced video on the hd flat screen. i guess on an sd tv it would probably look great.

i’ve read many threads that say keep everything in 24p, even in editing. so how do i do that when i bring the footage into FCP?

    any help appreciated.

i have a problem with the audio starting late in every dvd i make. i export a quicktime from fcp. the quicktime plays fine. the video and audio start at the exact same time. nothing unusual. then i use compressor to make the m2v file. but when i burn it in dvd studio pro, the first few frames of the audio is always missing. when it starts it’s in sync but i can’t seem to get the audio to start when it should.

does anyone know why and how to deal with this? thanks. m.
