    It was a clean install on a new system Peter, thanks for the thought.
    It completely slipped my mind to trash the preferences but I’ll do that and see how it goes. Guess I’d gotten fixated with the KG-core error. Thanks lots guys!

    Hi David,
    Thanks for the response! I doubt it’s a corrupted project because fcp crashes whenever I set the display to firewire and hit play, even in a new project just looking at color bars. The KG-core error message only ever came up once, since then fcp just suddenly quits with no messages. Any ideas?

    Hi Chris,
    They’re uncompressed 8-bit images converted using compressor from HDV1080 50i. The flickering usually occurs on lines in the 8bit images. Any thoughts?

    Thanks guys! Anyone tried Blackmagic Intensity yet? It allows HDV to be captured as DVCProHD through HDMI. Heard anything bad about it?
