The 1st thing you have to try — set default CPU frequency.

Thanks for the information.
I was already told that Vegasaur can do it as well.
However, frame duplication doesn’t look as good as resampling (just download zip and look at results).
Also, you have to buy Excalibur or Vegasaur if you like to use them 🙂 -
I’ve compared 3 methods of removing flashes: NewBlue Flash Remover, frames duplication and frames resampling.
I’ve found that Flash Remover’s result even worse that simple frame duplication. Right now I’m using frame resampling method (quite complicated but no additional plugins are required).
I’ve published post in my blog where I described these methods and made small video tutorial. zip file with source, 3 results and Vegas project file is also available there.
I hope it could be usable for somebody else.

If I understand correctly: Pan/Crop | Right Mouse Button over the image | Flip Horizontal

I see that many NVidia users have problems with Vegas 11.
Actually, I have ATI/AMD video card (with last _release_ not beta drivers) and Vegas crashes rarely in my case so I don’t disable GPU usage. Also, look at this page. You’ll see that NVidia cards are better for rendering, bug ATI/AMD cards are better for playback. For me playback is more important as it allows me to have smooth preview while working with project. What about render? Well, I can render my project during nights. But right now I can’t use GPU with Mainconcept codec because of crashes during render (I hope it will be fixed in following builds). Also, some people say that encoding using CPU only gives better quality.
P.S. I know that Intel/AMD and NVidia/ATI something like a religion. I know that NVidia with CUDA could be used in other programs as well. I have ATI and NVidia cards in my home computers. Both are fine.

Have you tried to disable GPU usage in Vegas Options and in Renderer options? -

February 17, 2012 at 5:59 am in reply to: Upgrading to Windows 7 64 bit from Windows XP – Sony Vegas Etc QuestionsAbout paths changes: actually, Win7 has links from all previous paths to the new ones. Maybe it will work after upgrade.
If I press Win+R and type
C:\Documents and Settings\USER
and
C:\Users\USER
that I’ll see absolutely the same content.
However, I don’t know for sure how Vegas will handle this. -

February 17, 2012 at 2:58 am in reply to: Upgrading to Windows 7 64 bit from Windows XP – Sony Vegas Etc QuestionsI also think that installing Win7 on another HDD is a very good idea because if something happened you will be able to load your previous OS (XP) and try again.
You don’t need to uninstall Vegas (and other programs) before upgrade.
For backing up all your Vegas project you have to copy all veg-files and all related media files. If the media files will be on the same place (the same drive letters and the same path) that the veg files should be opened flawless after upgrade.
> do you know if Windows 7 has the same file pathway for MyPictures so when I load them back in folders, Sony Vegas can find them again?
Unfortunately, the paths to “My Pictures” directory on XP and Win7 are different. On XP it started from “C:Documents and SettingsUSER… “, on Win7 it started from “C:UsersUSER…”
So if many of your media files are located in “My Pictures” directory it could be complicated (you will have many questions from Vegas because after upgrade because it will not be able to find the media files).
However, you can save all your Vegas projects to the external HDD using “File | Save As” menu item in Vegas with checking option “Copy medias with project”.
In this case all media files that are used in project will be copied in the same directory where your veg-file is saved. -
I have 50p footage and flashes had one-frame or two-frames length only.
The hardest task was to find them using my eyes. Plugin could do it much faster. Totally I removed around 40 flashes and it took a few hours for me (I’m novice with Vegas so I made some mistakes that ruined some of my works). With one frame flash I copied one previous frame.
With two-frames flash I copied one previous frame and one next frame. On resulting video I can spot the different during playback because I know where these flashes were. However, my wife couldn’t see any jerkiness (thanks to 50p, I think).
I think that someday I will be able to add some motion blur on modified areas so the jerkiness will be even less noticeable.
Thank you for idea about cross-fade. I’ll try it for sure.As I already said, I’ve tried NewBlue Flash Remover plugin. I spent some time playing with threshold option, but couldn’t find a good value. The plugin modified more frames around flashes and unfortunately it made some ‘backward movements’ (I don’t know why). On resulting video the jerkiness was more visible for me.

Thanks.
Right now I’ve removed these flashes by duplicating previous and/or next frames.
Unfortunately, I don’t know how to apply motion blur to duplicates frames yet, but even without it I like results.
