    That’s not surprising, as the Media Composer has worked just fine with the serial port on a Kona 3 card for the last few years.

    Neither Phantom nor ArriRAW involves a “codec.” They are both uncompressed formats, and the file formats are available from the manufacturers for anyone to use. They are both already supported on at least two Linux products (Iridas’ products, and Filmlight’s Baselight). ProRes is, of course, a compression codec owned and controlled by Apple, so cross platform support is done at their discretion and does not currently include Linux.

    Define “finish.” I can’t think of anything you can do on Resolve that you can’t do in Baselight (other than object tracking), but I’d like to know what you see that I don’t.

    That’s not what I saw. I saw and heard Glenn stating that although all flavors will ultimately be available, ProRes 444 will not be available at launch. It will be made available with an upgrade sometime after that.
