Hi Stephen,
I posted with very similar issue not too long ago. The kind people of this forum provided some solutions and I came up with some myself. The one that was easiest was that most of my video submitters had iPhones. They shot their video and uploaded it to iCloud and sent me a link. For the Android users, uploading to Google Drive was very easy. My clips were typically under 2 minutes, so that worked very well as the file sizes were small. I also had users get to me via BOX.com. And, for my CEO, I added him as a user on Vimeo… His video was over 5 minutes (as you might imagine).
I also asked all of my submitters to introduce themselves as an added bonus in case I didn’t know who they were.
I will be following this thread very closely as I still don’t feel like I have the best answer… Just an answer, of sorts.
Good luck!

Thanks! Yes, I have been looking at the demo for that product. It is a little hard to use and REALLY wants you to use a photorealistic map from Bing. Less “infographic-ish” than I was shooting for. Though, it could be my lack of self confidence in my After Effects skills that are speaking.

I knew this wasn’t going to be easy!
Thanks for the numbers, and the input!

WOW, Mark! Thanks for the awesome advice! Yes, it was me before with the gym causing issues in my current studio. I am hoping that, in my new studio location (and since it is a custom build), that I will be able to control more of how the space interacts with the rest of the building. Honestly, I will probably end up in a dank basement with my red stapler…

I realize that I am going to need some other stuff. Maybe another lens, memory cards & such. I might be able to squeeze 3K.
Are you suggesting other things to add?

Actually, things have improved dramatically since I moved to the Creative Cloud version of AME.

I am thinking of coming up with one of those hip and trendy bull crap titles that the hot new ad agencies use these days… What do you think of “Chief Friction Arrester?”
It is kind of frustrating because, as you all know having been in the business for a while, you want to be paid what you are worth. I also want a title that matches what I do. They still refer to me as the “GUI Guy” (pronounced “gooey guy”) even after working in my present position for seven years… and doing much less web work these days. Don’t get me wrong, I like what I do and who I do it for, but with an industry that can be volatile I think it would be foolish not to keep my personal marketing in good shape incase something bad happened. And yes, I am not as optimistic as I would like to be, but I prefer to think of myself as a Boy Scout… Always prepared.
The “elevator speech” needs work. When someone asks what I do, I chuckle and ask them if they have some time.

Just an FYI, Adobe offers a pretty good price (for a limited time) to “upgrade to the Creative Cloud as a current owner of CS6. $19.99 a month.
I am finding some tutorials on “How To Enable GPU Cuda in Adobe CS6 for Mac.” Some say it won’t work for the ATI card, but others imply that it will (unsupported cards). So much work just to render some video!

Thanks for all of your sharing, Ryan! I don’t love the idea of a hack so much, but if it gets me better performance, I may need to at least try it out.
I wonder if anyone makes an actual product? Maybe ATI? Hmmm…

Premiere Pro CC is better than Premiere Pro CS 6? Really? Damn! I just upgraded!
I don’t think the boss would go for a software switch or a new GPU. I just got this GPU (the last one went bad). Is there a way to make PPro CS6 more friendly to my GPU? Some other software/hardware solution? That would be an easier sell since the GPU and CS6 are new.
