I have a ATI Radeon HD 5870 GPU. The footage is captured on a Canon Vixia HF S10 at 1440 x 1080 for this project.
I ended up rendering out my AE effects and replacing them. This has the render time down to around 13 hours, which still kinda sucks… But that is way better than 20.
No, I haven’t tried to render directly from Premiere for this project. Might be worth a try when I fire out the second half of the event. Is it possible that AME is worse at multithreading than Premiere? I read that this might be a possibility, but I haven’t been able to find backup to that.
Would trying to build some kind of render farm be a good idea? I remember an article a while back about getting some Mac Mini’s and use their combined processing power. That is a little over my head, though.

Yep, very similar to the kind of thing I am doing. Looks like I am going to need some gear!

That is correct. I guess I could attach another monitor that faces the camera.

Lol! Well… I definately carry all of the equipment myself! I wish I had someone to carry it for me!

Know of any good tutorials?

Ha! LOL! Good idea.

Good question. I have no idea. I guess I would have to bring in a structural engineer, or some such. Do you think that would work? I am getting a little desperate… I am worried less about the quality of the video, and more about my sanity. The pounding and vibrations are getting to me.

The treadmills do have relatively thick mats under them. They just don’t do the trick, especially when there is someone on the machine who has no idea what he is doing. I walked by there last night on my way out, there was a guy in there, probably 6ft. 4in. in work clothes, even leather dress shoes, running hard on one of the treadmills. BANG! BANG! BANG! I know from experience as a trainer, in another lifetime, that if you are banging when you run, your technique is wrong. A lot of people using that room are using the equipment wrong, apparently.

What about sand bags? We control an empty room between us and the exercise room. Could I load up the wall between me and that room with 50lb. bags of sand?

That is a great suggestion, and totally on the wish list. The decision to use curtains/drapes is a mixture of form and function. You could boil it down to the fact that the boss thinks they are cool and makes the studio look more professional. I am the one in the trenches, so to speak, so I will be using what ever works. Rolls of paper will be used, with out a doubt.
