I don’t know of any other program that will do what what the one you’re using does.
A few more thoughts. Did you import the footage right from the card? If you did, try copy the entire card’s contents to your hard drive and try again. It might have been a computer glitch and “recapturing” and re-wrapping it might fix the problem. Good luck!! -
Seth, I ran into a similar problem a few years ago. As I recall it turned out to be a corrupt clip (bad spot on my card?) and nothing I did fixed it. I formatted the card once I was done and have never had the problem again. I know it doesn’t help you though 🙁

Just a follow up to Roger’s excellent suggestion. The backup file has a .bak extension. Move it to a different folder, rename it from (for example) myvideo.veg.bak to myvideo.veg and try opening that one. Good luck.

Seth, I just ran a DVCPRO HD mov file through Media Encoder and it worked for me in Pro 10 and 12.
I tried both the XDCAM EX 35 NTSC 60i and XDCAM HD 35 NTSC 60i templates and both were fine. -

I honestly can’t remember but I don’t think there was much of a quality loss. The program is free so you have nothing to lose but the time to try it and see what you think of it.

Seth, it is free and I found it easy to use. It’s been a few years since I had to use it but, as I recall, it rewrapped my footage into an mp4 file that I brought into Vegas. As I said it’s been some time so I could be mistaken on the new format.
The page has two files on it, one for a Mac and the other for a PC so grab the proper one. Good luck!! -

That will bring you to a link for a converter on the Convergent Design site. I needed it when I got some XDCAM footage that was shot in mov format. It got the job done perfectly!!
