Thanks very much for the input, Shane.
Looks like I need to refresh my system back-up and give it a whirl.

    …Or shell out 30 bucks.

I understand they are phasing it out, or at least not focusing on it. But for now, they still sell it, so that has to mean something, right?
If I need to re-purchase it, that’s fine; $30 isn’t going to break the bank.

So, my two follow up questions:

    – If I install FCP7 to access QT7, can I immediately run FCP Remover and still keep QT7?

    – Given all the warnings to not have FCP7 and FCX installed on the same machine, is it safe to install FCP7 and then immediately delete it without opening?

    Thanks very much.

    Ian,

Thanks for the reply. I had read in the past that when archiving cards to the User folder that it was a best practice to make sub-folders that the BPAV folder would live in. If I have the destination folder set to the top level of User will I run the risk of overwriting data that is already there or would it simply get added to one “master” BPAV folder.

    Does this make sense?

  • Funny. I match my sequence to my XDCAM clip settings and have no problems. I’ll edit native if I don’t plan on doing many effects on the footage. If it is to be a composite-heavy edit I will either transcode everything to ProRes or do an assemble edit and transcode that footage.

Not an answer, but just my experiences.

Awesome! All I need from it are the expressions, since they weren’t posted in the tutorial. I had used them before, but had made so many tweaks that I wanted to start from scratch.

Maybe an editor could post the updated version?

    Thanks again!

  • Brilliant! That did the trick. Thank you so much.

  • Hmm. There may be. But again, why is FCP being told to search for these files when it is not attempting to open the project? Even when it is opening into a new and empty project, it is still performing this search on start up.

    Todd,

I had stumbled on your video in my searches. Unless I’m missing something, I don’t think I could use that technique for my needs. I have a clone stroke (not a single point) that needs to correspond to beneath the subject’s eyes. Additionally, the relationship will change over time when the camera zooms in.

    Thanks.

Hmm. I suppose I could do it that way as well… I’ll give it a try.
