This is getting off subject (my fault here), but you can buy either SoundTrack Pro or Motion 2 online from many online vendors (amazon, etc., etc…) just google.
Also CompUSA sells SoundTrack Pro seperately as well.
Apple may not be offering them on their site, but they are out there in droves. You just have to look.

…and to further clarify. The reason that is my only path (the $666 to upgrade seperately), is because I already own Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2 and Flash 8 Pro… so to upgrade my current video collection standard up to the new “premium” version is a whopping $800 and I already have the other apps.
So it really leaves me (and I’m sure many others) with no upgrade path except the $666 fee for upgrading each independently (which I’m assuming I’ll be allowed to do).
This is in stark contrast to being able to buy ‘either’ Apple Motion 2 or Soundtrack Pro right now for $299, then upgrade to the new full Final Cut Pro Studio “universal” for only $199 in February. Thus getting Final Cut Studio for only $498.
Adobe just made this choice real easy for me to go back to FCP.

My point was based on facts… you’re not paying attention sir.

I have Premiere Pro 1.5, Encore DVD 1.5, Audition 1.5, AE standard 6.5 (the old video collection). You with me?
The upgrade to the new video collection is $500… but I already have Photoshop CS2. So all I get for my $500 is Premiere Pro 2 and AE7. Which makes no sense because I can upgrade seperately for PPro2 and AE7 for $199 apiece ($398). But after spending that $398 for PPro 2 and AE7 upgrades that leaves me needing to then upgrade Audtion 2 for $129 and Encore DVD 2 for $149 to take the upgrade path to ($666). I wonder if someone planned the math to hit a demonic number.
So I’m left with no video collection standard to video collection standard upgrade path to simply get to version 2 apps. The last collection upgrade was $250 total.
I hardly see the logic in all this. I mean who the heck is a professional and doesn’t already own Photoshop. And why remove DVD authoring in a video collection / bundle???
Just insanity.

“””Do you guys really believe that most PC based companies just do event video?”””
I’m just sharing statistics I was exposed to.
I really like Encore DVD and the integration with AE and PS. I just wish it was more than a prosumer app with no scripting abilities which alone excludes it from so many high end authoring facilities. DVD Studio Pro on the Mac or DVD-lab PRO on the PC provide a much more professional feature set. But even they fall short of Sonic’s high end authoring solutions.

I hope your right about Adobe.
I was at two seperate cities for their last video collection [city tour kickoff]. At both they asked a show of hands for who was a wedding videographer. In both cases close to 2/3rds the room raised their hands. At one the comment was something to the effect of “your our strongest market segment”.
I’ve been holding out on going Avid for the Adobe Video Collection release. Originally they had targeted the end of Q4 for that release. They said that at investor’s conferences and conference calls, but the merger with Macromedia happened a few months later than they anticipated and some transition could have prevented the timing of that launch date. Maybe, maybe not. But I have been waiting patiently to see what they cooked up.
The integration of Photoshop, Encore and After Effects is top notch (I don’t care for Audition myself). I already saw the after effects demo in October and I’m looking forward to the launch to see what other changes in other apps have been done.
I would assume HVX support will be in the cake, but what else will determine if I upgrade or just move on to Avid.

I’m not a beta tester, but I’ve been curious what Adobe Encore DVD will look like in this pending release. They’ve had well over a year to add features and get up to speed. I like Encore and I am really hopeful that it got a professional overhaul.
The question is… does the video collection (and Encore DVD) continue to cater to the wedding videographer market???, or will Adobe finally take things up a notch. Encore is nice, but it has no scripting support. Premieire Pro is nice, but it doesn’t deserve the name “Pro” right now compared to competing NLEs.
The thing that Adobe has going for it is that their integration actually works. I dumped my dual G5s because the Final Cut Studio integration doesn’t work as advertised. Adobe’s does.

Best PC DVD Authoring tool right now is DVD-lab PRO and only $199, but has a feature set that should cost 2 or 3 times that price. But requires more knowledge of spec.

Graeme,
Thanks for requesting a new forum around this camera (to be).
I’m getting the HVX-200, but very interested in the future development and release of this mysterious camera.

My understanding is that you can only take advantage of it with this plugin “Nucleo”. The benchmarks on it look amazing and worth the price.
