I have a weekly Tv show , I use many cameras , used teh HVX 200 for studio wraps .

I take smaller Hd cameras in teh jungles
I bought the camera in april 2007 from B&H and waited 4 months to get the 8 GIG promo card. I dont mean to bash Panasonic but mainly everything I have bought Video wise to even cordless phones have a small usage or life span.
The wiring harness problem is vast and panasonic should do something about it.
I had a wave Pamnasonic mixer in the repair shop from 1992 to 1998 bvefore tosssing it in the garbage.

Thios camera was a big investment for our studio work & grenscreen segmenst when we shoot them EVERY 2-3 MONTHS

Main shooting is in the jungle or Kayaks and yes I preffer my lil HDRC9 sony HD camera than the panasonic at least it works.
Do you work for Panasonic? I am sorry If I offended you in my search to find others with the same problem.
which I did and now I am enlighten to what the problem is defected
wiring or manufacturing.
NAB will be fun to hang around the booth and share my Panasonic tales!

SAVE YOUR $ GO SONY ,

I have a $6000 door stop with my HVX200
what a waste of $ besides not functioning after 17hrs of use the hand grip pops open as it pleases . the record comes on as son as it pwoers up and the Battery has to be removed to get it to stop.

many reports on bad internal wiring with having to send in to get repaired as well as expenisve P2 cards .
should have stuck with SOny sony sony after 20 years of having Panasonic products break down fall apart .. SONY SONY SONY

Bummer I have babied this camera uasge is once every 2-3 months
and less than 2 years old and the buttons are not working
The hand grip releases leaving the tape compartment open what a disapointment another Bad product should have stuck with Sony.

the mainla sony guys are telling me that the sony Dc9 wont allow incoming HDV from print to video from FCP6
that sounds kinds whacked?

there has to be a way or it would not allow FCP to control the camera firewire?
I am just not seeing an image or sound ?
anyadvice?

I am having the same issue
need to get HDv dubs made on mini camera fast forwrds palys rewinds etc./… when I print to vdeio firewire starts the rec but no picture or sound .. has anyone figured this out?
I called sony and spoke with 2 different guys and got 2 different answers…
did sony makeinternal recording via fire wire in HD not available?
