man as the problem increases so does the repair fees Digitron said they where authorized Panasonic repair depot.
They want $600 to fix the cable and tax & shipping on top.
is it too late to go back to sony…..just some of the HVX 200s have had the problem? are you sure Jan?

consumer & customer relations should be priority in these economic times. I swear on my life I will never buy Panasonic junk again , bad experiences in the 80’s 90’s and now this

“Good ideas for life?” …..”should be repairs for life! ”

Best of luck keep in touch and let me know if Panasonic helps you?
I guess it has to be more than 50,000 in order to be recongnized as a defect.
just like the P2 card give away fiasco ….panasonic does not honor there products or name.

if it was a car with any defcet it would have been fixed.
buy sony next time I know I should have stuck with a reliable comapny
like sony…. let me know if you get this as I said I have been blocked form this post..

HI Matt I as you used this forum to complain…instead I got black balled off the site.

tons of mean emails back from wana be professionals / jerks/ panasonic butt kissers.
who told me I was “whining and to grow up”.. NICE professionals
even the creative cow owner Ron…. started blocking my posts
on creative cow and only allowed wannabe responses from hacks.
    They
    sent me harsh emails
even calling up the network where I have my tv show and slandering me to the Vice president of the network .

I hate to tell you but Panasonic wont help !!! in fact most of there products I have owned have all been crap over the years .
I am sorry but you wont find any help from creative cow or panasonic.
Mine is in the shop now being repaired for almost $500.00
    Panasonic bad electronics for life!!

I am sure as the months go by the number s will grow I have found several others including Barry Green himself that had the same problem.
I know if it was my company I would offer to fix the problem, as they left the factory with the problem.
that is all I am saying I dont feel I should pay an additianol $500-$600 to fix it.

I rather put that towards a sony.

    OK enough said ,

you all think it is normal
for a $500 repair for a defect wiring
on a camera less than 30 hrs of use.
actually $88 inparts $350 labor and shipping.

    talk about mass lowered expectations!
    thisis not human lives,
    space ships or stock market
it is a product. I am ending this thread buyer beware I can post my own thoughts on google

I am well aware of the line of P2 cameras and there prices, anything over $7000 you would be stupid not to lease.
my point is anything over $5000 sholud last more than 27hrs / 4 days of studio usage. before having to be sent in for repair ( as I have experineced with other Panasonic equipment)

    do you disagree?
isf so after I get it fixed I will gladly sell it to you for $4000 and buy Sony. at least you can use reg SD cards.
I am not using this camera for weddings & Barmitzbvahs but a travel show. even the lowend consumer HD sony cameras I use for ariel & under water B-roll have lasted with abuse…now I have to spend more money to fix a camera I spent close to $8000 on with a 8 gig card I bought for $1200 a P2 store that never gets all the clips….junk!
so look for a HVX 200 for $ 4000 hardly used for sale posting once I get it fixed

I have had many panasonic products break down contuosly.
I have to shoot in Florida and I dont have time to wait for a defective product to be repaired.

If it was a car there are Lemon laws for mass defects.
anyhow I swore after my Panasonic mixer went down for the 3rd timwe never to buy Panasonic. flimsy bad service even back when I was waiting for the P2 cards to arrive that there was a shortage ..yet everyone was selling them online for $1200 for a 8 gig card.

why cant there be at least some quality in high ticket items
is it that hard to give quality for the price.
Like I said less than 27 hrs in studio time
