Is anybody else having trouble with their iTunes with this podcast? Mine video keeps locking up at 1:40, and I have to reboot my computer to get out of it.

Yes — I have a Wacom. But I was hoping for a bit of guidance about how to set up the brush preset.

Your file looks pretty good. Did you apply effects after you drew it?

Thanks. Now I’m going to try to use Dan’s marker expression and do a lot of work to accomplish something I could do more easily, haha.

Is it possible that my single spot was simply too far away to light anything? I wasn’t doing much with the point of interest of the light.

And, yeah, I was getting blow-outs. I was going into “material options” on each given thing and adjusting there to get a decent balance. Is this the long way round?

Well, of course, now the more I’ve learned, the more complicated the project gets and the longer it’s going to take…

Great, now I look at my walking stick figure and feel like, um, a loser. So, thanks.

That’s really impressive stuff. Nice work.

You could probably put a layer over the one you’re fading in and out, and then use that to obscure the layer below it. It would look like a fade in/fade out… but you’d have to do that with keyframes too.

Any particular reason you’re doing it this way?

I just had this issue. In the 2nd podcast, towards the middle, he explains what Julio is talking about.

If this is what you’re doing, the fix is really simple.

I’ll try this, but I think the problem lies in the fact that one set of frames is going to alter its speed by frame-doubling (and therefore not change its position), and the other set of frames is going to continue to alter its position because of interpolation.

I answered your question about the minute adjustments, mostly, in the other thread. If I left anything thing out, it’s this: I have to move the anchor point to align it with the neck of a stick figure, and then I have to change the position to put it “back in place”.

So, whether or not the path comes from moving the position or the anchor point, the problem is the same.
