the nested sequence will work – I had not thought of that. A little different workflow, but it should work.
In Premiere, you create a new Title, and apply this to its own track. When you edit your title, you can see the underlying video. I thought this would be the logical way for Grafitti to work, but it is apparently designed around importing clips, or using a CG as an effect.
I’ll learn to live with it.

yes, that is what the Boris tech support told me, but he was unsure of exactly what I was talking about.
You are in sync with what I am talking about – too bad it does not work the way I was expecting it to. I used to use Grafitti in the Media 100, and it worked the way I described.
Well, I will have to make do.

Thanks for the replay. I too can see the video if I apply the Grafitti effect to a clip on a Premiere track.
What I want to do is use Grafitti like you use the titler in Premiere – have the Grafitti clip on its own track, and have it supered over the underlying tracks. It will do this, but you cannot preview the underlying tracks within Grafitti. -
clever – yes that is what I mean. I know you can import a video clip into Grafitti and use that as the background – but what do I do so that I see the Premiere sequence in the composite window, as you have shown? For example if I want text to appear on a higher track than where my video is.

glad to hear other people have experienced the same thing. I just ordered Boris FX, which should solve this problem.

I should add that occasionally when this green weirdness happens, Premiere freezes completely. As is the case right now.
Premiere 1.5 – P4 2,8 ghz, 1gig ram, external SATA drives for media.

Having installed those updates ages ago, I have found that having still images that are too big can cause this problem. I used to import digital stills and PSD files at their native size, and pan and zoom. But if an image is larger than 1500 or so in either dimension, Premiere has problems.

I think as video moves to the web, over say 5-10 years the quality and bandwidth will be so good, the web will replace broacast tv all together. So at the end of this evolution, we will have web-tv as good as broadcast/cable/satellite tv is today. Then some clever broadcaster is going to find a way to start broadcasting to the tv again, and the process will reverse itself.
Or not.

good call on the podcast. Sure there are millions of crappy podcasts. I know, I have downloaded many of them.
But when I find a few good ones about specific topics I am interested in, I become addicted.
There are not many great podcasts, perhaps only one or two in the niche genre in which your show is.
Talk about how you make the shows. Interview the people in the shows.Promote the podcast on all podcast directories, have a blog/website that relates to each episode.
