clever – yes that is what I mean. I know you can import a video clip into Grafitti and use that as the background – but what do I do so that I see the Premiere sequence in the composite window, as you have shown? For example if I want text to appear on a higher track than where my video is.

Sorry, but I don’t understand what you want to do or achieve. You can use Grafitti as an effect on any clip and in the composite window it will show the background as in my previous post. If you have multiple tracks with different opacity showing as one background, use a nested sequence and apply the Grafitti effect to that. If this does not meet your wishes, please explain what you want to achieve.

the nested sequence will work – I had not thought of that. A little different workflow, but it should work.

In Premiere, you create a new Title, and apply this to its own track. When you edit your title, you can see the underlying video. I thought this would be the logical way for Grafitti to work, but it is apparently designed around importing clips, or using a CG as an effect.

I’ll learn to live with it.
