July 14, 2007 at 5:58 pm in reply to: Two Questions about repeating motions (looping stuff).1) for looping the comp:
This from Darby Edelen (wuzelwazel) works:
https://forums.creativecow.net/cgi-bin/new_read_post.cgi?forumid=2&postid=906585
When you drop that layer into the longer main comp to loop it, and add time remapping, you can now pull that layer’s outpoint to the right, as far as you want it to keep looping.
Alternatively, you can always render out the comp, reimport and set the number of loops in the Interpret Dialogue box.
2) for looping “leg stepping” (loops keyframes):
Click on Dan’s had, main page (the one with the vibbing Expression Aura around it), and scroll down to:
Animating a Walk-Cycle Using Loop Expressions
All things loopy, all variations are demonstrated in the comp “Intro”.
The basic expression is:loop_out (“cycle”, 0)
Just Copy the expression, alt-click the stopwatch that has the keyframes you want to loop, then Paste in the expression.

This from “Subject: COMMON AFTER EFFECTS QUESTIONS — PLEASE LOOK HERE FIRST” at the top of the page:

Also here’s a post of mine on how to do it (sort-of)in AE:

July 12, 2007 at 8:40 pm in reply to: How can I manually replicate the Exponential Scale effect in standard?You might want to try this exponential scale expression from an earlier Dan post. Copy the expression, then Alt Click the Scale Stopwatch of that Layer 1/SanFran.psd, then Paste.
I plugged in Andrew’s 100% to .0005% over 6 seconds. This expression will override any keyframes, so you don’t need any on that top layer. I don’t have AE7, my bad, so I can’t download Andrew’s project file to test it, but it should be smooth.
Dan Ebberts earlier post, with your parameters:

Subject: Re: is it possible to us expression for?
Try this:v1 = 100;
v2 = .0005;
t1 = 0; //start time
t2 = 6; //end timeif (time <= t1){ s = v1; }else if (time > t1 && time < t2){ t = time - t1; T = t2 - t1; k = Math.log(v2/v1)/T; s = v1*Math.exp(k*t) }else{ s = v2; } [s,s]

Thanks for the explanation.

Why would an image sequence have more than one Alpha Channel? I can’t visuallize the need for this. I also eargerly await an answer to your question.

July 12, 2007 at 12:15 am in reply to: Is it possible to create this 360 panorama view in AE?I don’t think AE is what you want, Flash can do this, even a few versions back. Goggling Flash and Panoramic will get you lots of hits.

July 12, 2007 at 12:09 am in reply to: Is it possible to create this 360 panorama view in AE?THis script turns a panoramic image into AE #D layers arranged in a cylinder. Is that what you want?

Maybe try Distort>CC Bender or CC Bend It or Bezzier Warp.

Can you duplicate the fire layer (I’m assuming it has alpha), then Corner Pin in against the wall, and decrease Opacity and maybe saturation?
