Is it possible to create this 360 panorama view in AE?
Hi there
Basically you see this quicktime https://www.lovemarche.com/00002-files/monticelli-02-600-960×540.mov
Can you create that in AE or is there a special program you need? I was just wondering if anyone knew of how to do it, im guessing you take lots of photos of the area in one point rotating round and then a program joins them for you?

hmm dont think so, cause i want the user to be able to control it and everything, like you can in the quicktime video i linked to…

I don’t think AE is what you want, Flash can do this, even a few versions back. Goggling Flash and Panoramic will get you lots of hits.

The file you’re looking at is Quicktime VR. I did a couple in the past by taking around 16 images of the same scene (they have cameras made for this effect as well) You’ll have to find a Quicktime VR creation program, I’m sure you can find one that is freeware or open source, jsut search. But you load the images, tell the software all the lens specifications and it roughly creates a panorama. Then you just match up some of the images better by hand and export and you’ve got a panorama. Very simple process. If you take a pic with any movement in it you’ll need a special camera so that you get the pic in one shot.

see apple.com Made For Mac and search for QT VR tools. There are many suppliers and mfrs of camera mounts, software and rendering systems. This is an enormously COOL way to put video and photography on the Web. Very fun. Very difficult.
I have not opened it up yet but there are “3d capabilities” within Photoshop CS3. I have no idea what that means yet.
