John, you are right, I captured with my quad core desktop and had no problems with capture or playback. So when I do a HD project it will have to be on the desktop.

Can I burn a HD project onto a regular DVD, and playback in a Blue Ray Player? Thanks

Made some progress, put 9c on and changed IEEE device driver to IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers. I can now preview and capture HDV in Vegas. But when I see my video in the preview window I see artifacts that run across the video stream. What I see is what I capture. Even when rendered out these artifacts are there. I changed my ATI settings to no avail. Now HDV split drops frames when capturing.

Maybe my laptop does not have enough HP for HDV?
