Questions On HDV Capture
Hello everybody this is my first post. I have a Canon HV20 CC, along with Vegas 9. My editing system is a Toshiba A505-S6975. Specs: Dual Core Intel 7350 2ghz, 6 gigs DDR2 memory, 500 gig 5400 HD. I also have a Quad Core desktop system.
I just completed a Christmas family movie from my HV20. I captured in SD mode and made a DVD. When I try to capture in HDV mode the Vegas capture module says preview unavailable. I can hear sound but no preview of video. So I downloaded HDV Split. I output the captured video to a external Esata drive. Sometimes I get dropped frames and sometimes it captures OK. When I play back the captured files there are a lot of artifacts. Even if I render them out I still get artifacts.
My question is can I capture in SD and do my edits and render to HDV? I did take some SD clips and rendered them to HD just to experiment.
Can those HD clips be written to a regular DVD and played back onto a BluRay player?
Thanks, Mike
