Thanks Jeff. I wish I could post screen grabs, but it’s proprietary material.

The material is DVCPro HD. It was captured in Final Cut from the camera, hence the 1280×1080 size. It was then given to a Premiere editor.

I’ve determined that what Premiere is doing is compressing both timelines, the 720×480 and the 1280×1080, rather than just the 720×480. That’s why the speaker, who’s in the 1280×1080, looks squished.

So I guess the question is, is there a way to tell Premiere to accept that everything in the 720×480 is good to go and nothing else needs to be processed?

I should add that I’ve been trying to do all of this through the HDMI ports. When sending the audio out through RCA the Intensity processes it just fine. For some reason it doesn’t like the embedded HDMI audio.

Any idea why this could be?

Yeah, all of the above. Captured as ProRes as well.

Agreed! I used the Mighty Mouse at my last job and it’s the best mouse I’ve used. Totally forgot about that one. And they make a wireless version!

    Problem solved. Thanks.

Without actually seeing what you created I would say take the video wall Motion file into Final Cut without the middle title (I assume you added the title in Motion) and create the title there, then scale to your heart’s content.

Yeah, pretty much anything is easier than animating the mask. I have a support ticket in with Red Giant so we’ll see what they say.

Yes, I’ve tried Motion’s Primatte RT keyer. Still wasn’t even close to doing the job for the clip we had. I gave up on trying to key this clip using anything that came with FC Studio. That’s why we spent $500 on Red Giant’s Primatte Keyer Pro.

Primatte Keyer Pro cuts the most perfect key I’ve seen, but I’m getting periodic hits of white on the side of his head. That’s what I’m trying to find out about. Has anyone else encountered this problem with Primatte Keyer Pro? If so, what did you do about it.

Actually, that’s why we got the plugin. I was getting tired of doing that with not great results. The plugin gives an absolutely perfect key without the need to do all the multiple layers/garbage mattes, but those intermittent flutters are difficult to resolve. And I don’t know that they’re going to be there or where they’re going to show up until I render it and check it 4 hours later.

I’ve actually done that/doing that. But I’ve found that even subtle changes can result in not so subtle shifts in appearance at the cut point. The main problem is that I have to render the whole thing, to the tune of 4 hours, to be able to see these little pops and flutters. Would be nice to know what’s going on before so I could make the correct changes and be done with it.
