Seems that there is no way to mute the audio while capturing HDV footage at this stage…until FCP come with a plug in or something.

One option I found that works for me if when I filmed, I recorded on one channel only.

If the audio is recorded on your RIGHT channel then go in to the

system preferences > sound > output

and change the balance to the LEFT opposite of how you’ve recorded the audio on your footage.

That way you won’t hear the sound of your footage while you want to listen something else on your computer. But you will be able to listed in mono only. Its better than nothing ey?

    Hope that this helped.

I’ve got quite the same issue with reconnecting media from an external 2TB HDD. After I finished my showreel last year I copied the entire project on to this external HDD through Media Manager.

My iMac version is 10.5.8 and FCP is 7.0.3. I’ve been using the same computer and the same version of software and I’m not able to reconnect half of my footage.

Some footage and audio is connected and more than half of the footage I just can not connect it back.

When I try to reconnect I always get the File Attribute Mismatch error message. The attributes that differed are as follow: – Media stat and End

If you can give me any hints, would be much appreciated.

    Thank you!
