BTW, we deleted 3 TB (I know!!!) of render files from the aforementioned project… trashed user prefs… and still have the same problem. we can render 1-2 minutes of shots, and then have a crash. upon re-opening, all the render files we had done to that point are still there. but if we render the next clip in the sequence, as soon as it’s done, ALL THE PRECIOUS RENDERS DISAPPEAR BEFORE OUR VERY EYES!!! WTF?!?!? this is crazy. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. mahalo plenty!

we’re using FCP 6. so, ur saying that using the media manager copy procedure on the selects in their own timeline will suffice rather than exporting and importing before or after applying filter, right? both have been suggested by others. we’ll give it a try and see what happens. sure is an interesting filter tho. mahalo for ur assistance!

  • I thot all was well with my batch capture… but alas, not. Followed ur instructions, Chad…changed ProRes 422HQ to ProRes 422. Saved it and selected it as video setup when batch digitizing. But ProRes 422HQ comes in the batch capture window in spite of my selection. Even when unchecking use logged clip settings, HQ still shows up. What am I doing wrong? Mahalo in advance.

  • OK… think I got it. The duplicate button is available on the specific tabs… capture presets, sequence presets, etc. I think I did it right… testing batch capture now and so far so good. Really appreciate your help… sorry I was so slow on the uptake. Aloha,

  • Chad… I think I understand the concept. But when I go to A/V Settings under FCP, I get a drop down that allows me to select Sequence Preset, Capture Preset, Device Control Preset, etc. when I click on Capture Preset, it shows me all the available presets… but I can’t right click on the one I’m using… right or left click simply selects that preset and enters it into the A/V settings box. I can’t figure out how to duplicate it. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks Shane… I decided my budget would only allow the blackmagic. I figured the aja would be better, but ya can’t do what ya can’t do. I’m running fcp 6. we’ll see how it performs. used aja kona with my powermac g5… was always rock solid. appreciate the feedback.
