I believe the workround has been discussed before

A version of the offline can be pulled into the project as a normal clip and added to the top track of the timeline. You could then grade it lighter.

Adding a shape (say a linear dividing the screen in half) and an Alpha Output to the node tree will give the A/B real time comparison and turning the post mix gain to 0 would turn it off.

    thanks

thought it might be the size though it is 2k academy scope – so a pretty standard DCP-prep frame size I thought.

Yeah, I’d pretty much come to that conclusion. I did get it working on a couple of clips that I needed to do tracks on. But it was painful to work in.

Probably wouldn’t recommend they buy a 5870 though, if they are buying a card to use lite surely a CUDA card would be preferable?

    yeah – fair enough

I obviously have a full resolve system in my own suite but had ‘sold’ the client the idea of resolve lite as the way to grade the project at their studio. I thought lite was a more hardware agnostic but it seems not.
Am grading their 4 x 50min in Color which is a shame as i’m about 2/3 speed in Color vs Resolve
    thanks

    Hi Peter,

You mean you switch between them on the same machine and they use the same LOCAL database or are you talking about a database on a server that 2 separate machine access?

It’s just I was thinking of installing both 8.1 and lite on my laptop and was going to post a question to whether that would work smoothly.

    Thanks,

    thanks y’all

i’ll sit tight – in the last few minutes it moved from the dreaded spinning wheel of death to a no-progress bar so something may be happening

(i’ve really got to do some DB housekeeping after this)

Can’t you use the foot pedals now, they map to multiple keyboard strokes:

In Resolve you’d need to map

    Command Right Arrow= Next Scene
    Space Bar = Stop/play
    Command Left Arrow= Previous Scene

  • it was my understanding that batch copy unlinked all the clips in 1 session but left the same clips in other sessions in the project linked – am i wrong?

the method i’m talking about is unlinking some clips in a session but not others in the same session
