Thanks for the response. I have been making some progress learning Final Cut and Motion. I am thinking I will create a Motion Master Template with the background and then two drop zones for the video. From there I can import it into FCP and drop the two videos into the drop zones. I am also hoping to make some of the text dynamic so I can change the captions to reflect the story/interview. My graphic arts skills are a little weak though. If anyone knows of someone that could create the Motion Templates for me at an affordable rate, please let me know. I would rather pay someone and have it look sharp, than do it myself and have it look like someone’s first try. It is fun to learn the tools though.

Thanks for the response Ben. Part of my problem is not knowing the proper terminology.

I am not thinking of a green screen, as much as merging two video files together. Sort of like a split screen, but with each video in its own box. I put a picture of what I am thinking of up at

Is there a name for that type of overlay? The picture I uploaded is a spoof, but shows the type of template I am looking to use for more serious stuff.
