I use the RODEcaster Pro mixer to record, or cut my VOs. The output is a 48KHz, 24-bit sample. When I listen to playback from the RODE to check the VO, the audio quality is quite good – siblants are non-existent. Codec is Apple ProRes 422 HQ, 10 bit video.

After I put the VO into the DaVinci timeline “Esses” are wildly evident even though I cannot hear such noise playing the VO through the RODE.

Any Ideas?

Thanks Jerry for your time to respond to my question.

I was finally able to join the Mac to the deck via FCP settings. I’d messed with them prior but had no success. Went back in and did pretty much the same adjustments and, boom! It now recognizes the deck.
