They must be uninstalled but you do a reinstall and Compressor parts are all over the place, there is an app by Digital Rebellion that is a must for removing FCS apps.This problem can be cause by a bad clip or filter, it is sometimes a pain to find the cause.
Duplicate the timeline and remove on the filters (remove attributes – Filters) and see if that renders or exports out, using the simple Self contained movie with Current settings. If that works you have a filter issue. If it doesn’t list what hardware and drives you have installed.

Not true at all. But you do need a Progressive player hooked up to a progressive monitor/projector via the component cables.Always encode with Compressor and not in DVDSP for best results.
7.8Mbps is a little high, I recommend 7Mbps CBR but max should be no higher than 7.5. -
Drive is #1, then you need to make sure you RT settings are set to Unlimited and Playback Quality is set to Dynamic. The video will probably drop in quality as it plays but that is the way it is suppose to work.
5 streams is a lot if you are working with 1080 material, you probably need at least five drives striped together, I was able to work with 8 cameras of ProRes 1080i with an older RAID 0 eSata enclosure with 10 drives.

What are you using for your system drive. If your system is on that RAID set you are operating in dangerous waters. For easy and little expense you would want to RAID 3 drives together, biggest fastest you can get and leave Bay 1 drive as a single with the system drive on it. This drive doesn’t need to be that big. -

Well your camera is years old, your software is years old, why would the articles be ok.BUT what you are trying to do makes no sense. If you are outputting 30p then you should be shooting 30p.
With that camera you have two 24 modes:
24p – to edit in a 29.97 interlaced timeline
or
24pA – to edit in a 23.98 progressive timeline. -
I still would work in SD. I would also just float the 3gp stuff in the window. You can send a little time to make it look better but it would be a ton of time trying to get it all to match (and not succeeding)

The “make cell phone video look like HD video” does not exist. You can buy filters that help in making SD video cleaner when uprez’ed to HD but there is still a difference.
You should be bringing the HD video down to SD, the cell phone video up to SD and then try to get them to match as best as you can, there is no drop a filter fix for this, you will be spending a lot of time making them match.

That is like saying I have a car what tires do I need.You need to make the .mov with a codec that works well with FCP. For HD probably AIC or DVCProHD. for SD DV, DVCPro50 or 8-Bit Uncompressed.

Why 1440×1080? Are you mixing it with other footage of this resolution? What is the resolution of the video to start with?

If you want it you don’t remove it, if you don’t want it you remove it. How you remove it is based on what method of pull down you used. 24pA gets removed when captured, 24p needs to be removed with Compressor or CinemaTools.
You remove it if you want to edit in a 23.98 sequence, you leave it in when you want to edit in a 29.97 sequence.
