This has nothing to do with QT, without codecs nothing would play. For some reason Panasonic does not distribute the codec, if they did then it would just play.
But given the 100 MB limit for 40min of video it really is a mute point (or as Joey would say, a MOO point). You have to use a web delivery codec like H.264.

H.264 is great but it is not quick, it maybe faster to just export as SD DV.

Are you Editing to Tape or Printing to Tape? What is your timeline sequence? Can you list your procedure.

HVX gives you DVCProHD files and that codec is installed with FCP so it is not just available in QT if they don’t have FCP installed.
You would need to export it as a different codec for standard QT playback.

FCP 6 has changed the name go to Log and Transfer (just under Log and Capture)

My comment about the line out was a mistake I was thinking of the wireless system RE2.

And I guess with TIme Machine running, putting it on the system drive makes even more sense since you get another layer of backups.

these are line inputs I think you need to use the 1/4″ out to get line level or a mixer. You can get a 1/4″ to XLR cable at most Radio Shacks or Music stores.

Curious, is the project file on the system drive for security or performance?

With DVDSP all you need to do is set the playback options WAIT to “infinite” on the marker BEFORE you want the pause. It will then pause when it reaches the nest chapter marker.
I have done this a couple of times and what I do is to but a marker 1 sec before I want the pause to happen, then set this new marker as stated above. Now may pause happens on the attended stop but a view still can chapter forward and my video would still pause unless they hit next chapter several times.
