    Thanks.

I also have been told ctrl-shit-drag (with snapping on) will work?

Interestingly I run a system similar to yours but with a GTX960 – no issues with 1080p but haven’t tried 4K yet.

May I ask briefly what it was that promp6ted a shift away from Sony Vegas?

In my own forum I have:

    To all new members

You’ve found the right place to introduce yourselves, simply start a new thread in this board.

    Handy things to do:
Pop your location in your profile
Place a pin on the member map

    Compulsory things to do:
Get in and enjoy the place !

Existing members are also welcome to introduce themselves, of course. ☺

In other forums of which I’m a member people are encouraged to share a bit about what they do in the (forum topic) field – in this case that would be the creative space.

They are also encouraged to share a bit about what else they are interested in.

    So an example-

    G’day,
I’m Michael and live in Brisbane, Australia

I’m just getting into doing some videos for YouTube so in fact rather an amateur but very much looking forward to drawing on the knowledge and skills of others here.

I have a Panasonic FZ200, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, and some experience with Photoshop Elements 11 and Lightroom 5.

I’ve done a little photo editing on still photos.

I also have Premiere Elements but no experience with it yet. (I’m rather hoping I can use DaVinci Resolve instead)

Other interests keeping me poor include:
    – Motorcycling (I ride a Suzuki GSX1400)
    – Shooting (love busting clays with my SxS shotguns)
    – History (especially military history and especially naval)
    – Computers (on those occasions they aren’t being troublesome.

    Cheers 🙂

Well that’s terrible news for me as my new system is an AMD 3700x cpu and 5700xt GPU.

Premiere works perfectly well on those specs I’m told so if Resolve can’t then its by no means a realistic alternative to Premiere. (And I say this as an Adobe hater, well disliker anyway).

  • As Tod said the first place to start is to remove as much noise from the video at the point of recording – that is, the environment in which the video is recorded.
That will pay the biggest dividends.

If there’s still a low but annoying background buzz in your recorded video, this can be removed/reduced using Audacity (a free audio editing program)., can probably be done within Resolve as well, but I wouldn’t know.

Also in regards to better equipment, It may improve the quality but it won’t necessarily lead to increased subs/views etc on youtube by any means.

If you area looking for tips / info / help regarding YouTube itself I’d recommend YouTube Talk forums. https://yttalk.com/ I find it very useful for that aspect. Cheers
