What codec are you exporting as when doing so? And what size raster? All of that affects size and quality of exported video file.

Yes, Vista and Win7 work with it out of the box. Win XP has an updater to support it from Microsoft.

The media has no issues going back and forth, same for projects and bins. Your only consideration is mounting drives back and forth between PC and Mac.
I have now started using exFAT formatting as I am on 10.6.6 on Mac, and Win7 on my PC. There is no need for additional software on either side to mount HFS or NTFS and it does not have the drive size limitation of FAT32. Perfect for transporting back and forth.

ALE file will not work for relink with audio. The safest and surest method is to drag all the those AAF’s that are also created for each transcode batch from REDCINE X into the bin. That will automatically relink upon import. If you want the additional metadata from the ALE, then select all the clip, do an import with import settings set to merge based on known sources. Select ALE.

Most if not all of your sequence move forward. The issue as mentioned, is that some effect will not move back. As always, use a copy of the bin with the sequence when doing so.
