If the ALE is properly prepared you should be able to merge the ALE into the existing AMA linked clips. Check the online user guide for the ALE import options, “merge” is one of them. There’s also a thread on a similar topic not too far down on this forum.

You can do a “merge ALE” into your AMA clips. In order for that to work, TAPE, START and END to match exactly. When using AMA, there is no value in the TAPE field, and source ID is being tracked in the SOURCE FILE column. In the ALE, edit the TAPE name in the “column” section of the ALE to “Source File” and the merge should work the same way.

The limitation of having to have hardware for multi-track file-based audio exports is strange… or needs a design upate, but it seems to me that you should be able to do it with the Mojo DX hardware. Are you set up for “Direct Out” in your audio settings? I believe that is the key to non-stereo mix-down exports.

When you say “DVD”, do you mean SD or HD? If SD, I wouldn’t recommend an uprez and downrez for the process, but just go straight to an AVID JFIF codec. You can also import those directly and select uncompressed on the Avid side, avoiding any further compression if you have the room.
If you are looking to do an HD video DVD, you have to decide where the best uprez can be done quality wise from SD to HD. Boris has a good reputation with their plug-in or you can do this in After Effects with an uprez plug-in there and export DNxHD as your output format.

That’s the sub-sequencing process. I would suggest using option-mark clip with all tracks selected by position the blue bar somewhere in each synced segment. This marks the clip for that video segment. Then you can have the “subclip” button on a another button and move through it pretty quickly.

For each segment in the timeline, mark end and out and subclip (sub-sequence) to a bin. The sequence must only contain a single V1 and any number of audio tracks. In the bin, highlight all the sub-sequences made this way, and select AutoSync from the Bin menu. This will create normal subclips that are synced.

US has no VAT, but each state (save a few) have an additional state tax that may or may not get applied to an online purchase. Online tax is a big debate right now as each state looks to add to their dwindling budgets. Where I live in Massachusetts it’s an additional 6.25% that can be added to the advertised price. It’s a double scale – not of the resize parameters are sent back to the original resolution – same for R3D and other AMA linked files.
