What’s interesting that there was no real reason to remove superbin functionality as the tabbed bins could have been additional functionality. What I miss about superbin is the ability to drag clips to a closed bin.

Yes, Lightworks did have a great management of resulting clips. D-Vision had a nice once as well.

You can use “AutoSequence” to create a timeline of clips where the clips are laid out automatically with source timecode matching record side. Make a timeline for each camera’s clips then work it from there by stacking each timeline to compare.

Try a folder at the root level of the drive and not on the desktop, just for testing. Also make sure there are no “/” in any of the folder or file names.

I would suggest autosyncing first, then multigrouping the subclips afterwards to see if that cleans things up.

Unfortunately the answer is no. The results of a “find” (with our without PhraseFind) is limited to clicking each result to either load directly into the source monitor or open in bin and highlight. It is a one by one load… and not designed for logging and media management type operations.

Sorry I wasn’t clear, but the ability to do discreet track export is new with Media Composer v6. In all previous versions, the method you are currently employing is the only way to do it. Also, you do not need any type of hardware in v6 for the discreet out, software only mode will do the same.

The setting is actually in the export window. There is a menu in the dialog box itself for stereo, 5.1, 7.1, discreet, etc.

Yeah, maybe that was it… 😉 I was just talking to an engineer about the import code and he mentioned what the import limit was but I forgot… 64, 254, what’s 190 characters between community friends?
