Maximum amount of characters?
Quick question for someone….
Whats the maximum amount of characters I can input into a custom field in a bin?
I have a column for notes, just wondered if there was a max amount of characters at all?
Importing an ALE with some comments in and it keeps crashing, have a feeling its the amount of characters in a field.

The maximum (the last time I checked) is 14.

It’s definitely more than 14, I dont mean the bin name, but when adding characters to a field for a clip in a specific column such as the comments column.

I “think” custom columns have a limit of 64 or something like that, but there is no limit when typing directly into a field. Some of the Standard bin columns like Scene/Take, Labroll, etc. have shorter allowances.

Max I have imported so far via an ALE is 200 characters, 256 didn’t work, but I guess that narrows it down a bit for future reference!

Yeah, maybe that was it… 😉 I was just talking to an engineer about the import code and he mentioned what the import limit was but I forgot… 64, 254, what’s 190 characters between community friends?
