Ah yes. NEW creates a new MOB each time rather than selecting from the previously logged list of tape names. Glad you got it worked out.

You’re probably running into the TAPE MOB which is a 24 hour timecode that is now using that TAPE ID, and any clips having been associated with that ID will get updated as well. Again, I am guessing, but that could be the case. If it is for EDL generation, a workaround would be to duplicate TAPE into either Camroll or Labroll and make corrections there. When time to make an EDL, use one of those columns as source.

For some reason, I have a feeling that the new MacPro will come out this month, either with or near the OS X Mavericks release. But then again, maybe not. But if you can 4-6 weeks, there will more used systems being sold which may bring more competitive pricing, or you may opt for a new one.

But between these two, the 2012 model is the way to go.

Couple ways to get to the original master clips of source elements used in a sequence:

    1. Open MediaTool, in bin, highlight sequence, then “select media relatives”. All the clips in the Mediatool will highlight. Drag them to a new bin and consolidate those from there.
    2. Put sequence in a new bin bu itself. Go to bin menu and select “set bin display”. Check “show reference clips” and only select master clips from the list at the top. Click OK, only master clips used in that sequence will be in the bin. Consolidate from there, or move to another bin then consolidate. Remember to go back and reset the “set in displays ” to original settings if you plan on using that bin for something else.

If you are doing nothing but wanting to play 60fps at 25fps, then the 100% setting with progressive in and progressive out will do that. That will be the cleanest and highest quality slomo you can get because it was shot that way. If you need to slow it down even further, then FluidMotion is certainly one to consider but can be problematic under certain conditions, so what the details in the frame carefully. Especially objects that appear from behind other objects.

I would bring the issue up with the color facility when they create the files that they are uniquely named. What are they using to create the new files?

Do you not have a green dot on the clip in the timeline? If so, don’t click on the effect mode button but the the motion looking icon underneath the color correction button. That will bring you to the motion effect editor. You need to then set it to 100% which represents 100% of current project frame rate which would be 25fps in your case.

  • There is not ability to click the marker button once and have it apply to all highlighted tracks although that would be a great enhancement to the feature seeing as it observes single highlighted track for Marker location and would be a logical outcome of all tracks highlighted. Perhaps a key-quencer type application could be created for highligting each track, adding marker, deactivating, movie on to next track, rinse and repeat?

Cut the entire clip into a sequence and you will see a motion adapter due to the frame rate mismatch. Open up the effect editor for the motion effect editor and click promote (top of window). Then set speed to 100% which will make it play at 25fps (frame for frame) resulting in a slomo.

What’s the intended playback frame rate and the project type you’re in?
