February 5, 2010 at 8:38 am in reply to: Final Cut doesn’t export clips in a chronological order?Thank you very much for your reply.
I have to admit this is exactly what I have done. I renamed my clips in the Exportlist (clip001, clip002…) and turned “set mark in/out” on and turned add suffix (or whatever its called) on as well.
Yet the clips I’ve got in my time line aren’t in the same order as the clips I have export as in: The first clip in my FCP time line might be the exported file clip005.mov while it should be clip001 of course.

February 4, 2010 at 3:07 pm in reply to: Final Cut doesn’t export clips in a chronological order? So I know what to do in the future but no there is nothing I can do against this?
Final Cut just exports my clip randomly even though they have an order in the time line? Also I didn’t use “Log and Transfer” but “Log and Capture” (i hope FCP calls it Lo and Capture and not Log and Record or something) for my HDCAM/HDV footage.
So all I got was one clip for each tape which I had to cut up in FCP afterwards and wanted to export in the right order.
So yes I still don’t really know how to solve this one.

Wow thanks a lot! This is exactly what I was looking for 🙂
Once you are in that SHIFT + H view is there any way to get back to the normal view again?
I’m certain there are way more of those – don’t even know how to call it “hidden features?” (only hidden if you are a n00b really)- im wondering how to find out about other little things that make life easier in final cut.

Thanks a lot for such a fast reply. I’m actually on XP 64bit AMD Opteron 2.21 GHz 3.00 GB Ram.
The thing is: I’ve looked at Andrew Kramer’s mov where he uses the particles (prerendered footage) and that looks as laggy as what I get myself with CC Particle World. -
I’ve said “I get the problem inside AE already it seems and thus when I export (TGA)”
so yes I see it when I make a preview inside AE and I see it when I export it as any file and look at the export for example a TGA sequence and look at this sequence afterwards in a lot of different programs (AE/fusion/quick time).

I get the problem inside AE already it seems and thus when I export (TGA). I’m not exactly sure what you mean by speed rendering but I assume you mean Preferences – Fast Preview where I’ve disabled OpenGL already. Or what exactly is speed rendering?
I am using something by Andrew Kramer called VIDEO STREAMS HD (Design_09 if anybody bought VIDEO STREAMS HD as well) and even the MOV he provided seem laggy to me. I don’t get this. So when I export the project file it doesn’t look any different from his MOV.
MAYBE this is just the way CCParticle World behaves and you can’t get very fluid results? Thanks a lot for the fast replies and help already

August 12, 2009 at 2:25 pm in reply to: switch the position of two selected keys with a simple click?Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks a lot.
Is there a shortcut I could press for this or a way to apply a shortcut to this very handy option?

This sadly doesn’t work as nicely as I hoped it would. If I pick TIME CODE it will run automatically by itself from the start and I can’t tell it “BE 00:00:00:00” at any point in time. Sure I seem to be able to animate it with Value/Offset… but I am not able to set it to zero at any point.

Haha this is so obvious. I can’t believe I didn’t think of this myself. Thanks a million for this great help! 🙂
