If they have FCP 6.0.2 or newer they should have no problem. If you were the person who disregarded the original files and they need them back them you should return the footage back to original.

I’m sure the Nano would be much better and less expensive than having Sony involved.
It does seem odd that Sony didn’t up the bit rate on the PMW-350

Yes you can get back to the EX Codec, export as Sony XD Cam. You first need to set the Sequence Audio tape to dual mono and you can put everything back as original. Craig Seeman has a nice little tutorial here somewhere showing each step.

OK drag each clip onto the time line separately and export them on by one as Sony XD Cam. You first need to set the Sequence Audio tape to dual mono and you can put everything back as original. Craig Seeman has a nice little tutorial here somewhere showing each step.

Greg always get the original raw files as I pointed out earlier. Never accept just rewrapped files that your shooter gives you. The originals allow you to edit in any workflow.

What exactly do you call the raw footage? What did you actually give them?

The Sony Raw files are contained inside each cards BPAV folder, and you need to copy this BPAV folder into a parent folder (Acam Card #1) and that is what you can call the raw. If you used the XD Transfer program and re-wrapped the files as Quicktime and thats what you gave them then they didn’t get the raw from you.

Your 1.4 50mm prime is way faster than any zoom that you put on the adapter. The 50mm has less glass elements allowing more light to past. Try sticking with just the primes. I recently picked up 6 Nikon primes for my Red Rock Encore and all are a f2 are better except the 20mm @ 2.8.

I rely on my histogram for determining my stop.

From this video the lens is just $1500 US dollars more than the body only kit. I think this is poor marketing, and gives the wrong impression of its quality before the masses get to put their hands on it.

If my memory serves me correct the initial MSRP price on Sony adds had the EX3 somewhere around $13990.00 and the PMW-350 with lens is priced now @ $22000.00.

My guess is that it will discount to under $16k, but this is wishful thinking.

Ultimately the PMW-350 delivers a better sensor and 4 channels of audio.

Mark, I wouldn’t add gel to the bounce surface, it will reflect back toward the set, plus it may double the gel output.

Honestly Todd, I don’t think it is worth the time involved, yes the gel costs are what they are, but I don’t think you will ever find the results you are looking for.
