What is the true color of the smock this person has on?
I’m guessing it should be black.Was there Tungsten lighting used?

I believe these cards are NOT for everyone, and anyone who chooses to use these cards must understand their limits. Plenty of discussion about the do’s and don’t have been written here and never has a restore ever damaged any files. I believe haste is to blame for this panic disaster and somewhere in the process the camera asked to reformat the card.I have several SDHC Transcend 16 gig cards from the earliest days of this new discovery with these adapters and I know them extremely well. I did all the testing to feel completely comfortable with using them.
However as most of you know I believe in using the Convergent Design Nano Flash as my main encoding recorder that uses Compact Flash media cards. I record to both SDHC/MxR or SxS and the Nano for complete redundancy for all of my jobs now.

Before you go dump your hard earned money into SxS cards you have another alternative. Besides the ability to save money on media you could also create near uncompressed quality files.
I’m talking about investing into the Convergent Design’s Nano Flash and using affordable compact flash memory cards in place of those pricey SxS cards. I just purchased 64 gig CF cards for under $300 each. now that is worth your time to click on this link.

I believe the device driver is for the SxS card for an express 34 slot. Down load the driver again, perhaps it is corrupt.
You can only ingest or copy the HQ files from the camera with USB not firewire.

Have you seen my posts and videos using the EX3/Nano/Red Rock Encore?
If you are using the EX cameras then the new Encore with the new achromat (designed specifically for the Fujinon stock lens) from Red Rock Micro is a extremely solid solution and I really love this new tool. I too use the Nikon lenses and would love to own the Zeiss prime.

I borrowed an auto focus lens from a friend and I needed to push a pin and close the iris down before mounting the lens, I was only able to open the iris while it was mounted but you it work, however I would recommend manual lenses.

Yes Bob is right, you can’t push into the end, or at least I can’t using the Red Rock Encore. The focus on the stock lens needs adjustment and I tape off the focus ring on the stock lens once I find the sweet spot.
I can count on Z73 to keep all of my Nikon lenses from vignetting and a few I can widen out a little more.One thing to keep in mind is that a 28mm has a definitive look and feel and by zooming in on the stock lens it doesn’t change and make it feel like a 35mm, it basically crops the field of view. I prefer to lock the stock lens at Z73 and change lenses to find the right composition.

I did participate in grading this video, however the Director didn’t me allow to go to far with contrast, or at least as much as I would have liked. And by the time I has allowed in on this processes I didn’t have the time necessary to add the vignettes I wanted.
I was told I needed beauty light for this artist and so I used a technic from a commercial (starring Jennifer Garner that I worked on a few years back) and found a large still camera umbrella that I put a Mole Richardson Mighty Mole into with 1/2 CTB, hoping to avoid the IR issue as her vest was black. So I had a beautiful large soft source as my base light to work with, and I wanted to create a look with a combination of colorful saturation together with movement.
And no I didn’t have swing and shift lenses, this was done in post.
OK I know I said I would post this on the first EX3/Nano and Red Rock Encore posting but never did.

Black Gamma +10I will say I pushed the capabilities of this camera to the edge and found that I should have shot a few scenes in 60p as I had strobing from (overcranking 24p to 48) the large group little PAR lights back lighting the sheer curtains when she was dancing with the men. Going into this I knew I needed a solid stop to work with so we could crush the image later without to much noise.
It was a great opportunity and the crew in Nashville was outstanding, I had never worked with any of these professionals and each and every one of them gave their best. I had guys on ladders moving lights threw the shots, I had 2 guys working the dimmer board manually and guys pre-lighting and move dolly track constantly, it was a very ambitious day.
This combination of EX3, Nano, Red Rock Encore is simply awesome.
I’m surprised Ron hasn’t commented of the song.

The Nano is worth every penny, I’ll be using it again today on green screen. It makes a huge difference using the Nano.
