    Hi Alex.

I feel really stupid, but how do I check that? I have edited videos for many years in Premiere, but this is the first time I’ve run into this problem. The source files are AVCHD-video and the video tracks have never caused me problems in the past. What different types are there…?

Thank You for your input! I have tried to burn a test-bluray with portions of the mixed sources, and the quality is really, really good. The frame rates are identical, as you asked about, so I’m ready to start editing. I’ll try your tip about always deinterlacing as well, Tim – thanks again!

Thanks for the tip Matt, but I’m afraid the result was the same as pulling out the sides of the image – it is distorted and everyone looks fat. I solved it by increasing the width of the project window in PA to close to 1100 and keeping the height at 576. That gave me a nice widescreen image, although this solution is probably not the normal one… 🙂

  • I don’t understand this. I have the exakt same problem and none of the checkboxes in “Interpret footage” solves the problem. I have a 720×576 PAL quicktime file from PA that looks very bad in AE. I want to preserve the alpha. What should my settings be like?

Thank you for your reply. I knew this was going to be a tough one. I wish I could see that animation of yours and find a tutorial somewhere. This will be tricky…
