Hi Scott,
Have you tried Mpeg Streamclip instead of Handbrake?
It will create an mp4, and I seem to recall ProRes working with it. I can’t test it at the moment, but you can download Mpeg Streamclip from squared5.com. It is one of the most useful piece of free software I have ever used.

Hi Jim,

I am not at home to check right now, but you might try trashing the plist file for iWork.pages If iWork is not open when you do it, I think that would reset the position (assuming trashing the pref file did not do it). However, it will probably also destroy all other settings, including layouts, and your serial number, so be aware you might have to re-register.

Hi Brad,
Are you sure you are clearing things off of the drive that you are scratching to?
Shift Q will open your System Settings, and let you confirm exactly where your scratch is. Generally, your scratch isn’t (and shouldn’t be) on your system drive.
