Years later and this is still an issue. Everything I record with the z280 is grainy 4k. My wife’s 1080p Canon Vixia looks cleaner and sharper. I’ve fixed the back focus, I record with 0dB gain around f2.8 with proper exposure/lighting. The footage is disappointing. I don’t know how the sample footage online is being shot and processed but I’m not seeing anything nearly that clean or sharp.

I’m having the same issues. Recording XAVC-L, 4K in sunlight with -3dB gain and still grainy and soft. It looks good in the viewfinder and then grainy and soft on the card. I’ve looked at it through Sony’s Catalyst Browser and Adobe Premiere. I’m consistently disappointed, particularly when compared to my much less expensive Sony A7sii.

More than four years later, this still seems to be a thing. I’m having a similar challenge. Did you ever figure out how to clear Master Clip Effects from multiple subclips?
