  • Batch Removing Effects applied to Master Clips

    Hi All

So I got really excited about Premiere CC’s new Master Clip Effects feature. I have a bunch of footage from a 5D that I shot with Technicolor Cinestyle, so I wanted to apply some basic effects to all of the clips to give them a preliminary color grade. Only used the RGB Curves effect.

So…I couldn’t figure out how to apply my RGB curves to all of the clips, and ended up creating a new preset once I had them set like I wanted. Then I selected all the clips in my 5D bin and dragged this preset on. So now they all have the RGB curves like I wanted.

However, I looked down the line and noticed that for most of the clips, to contrast looked too intense. So now I want to remove this effect (or even “all effects” since I can just start from scratch) from all the master clips in my 5D bin. SEEMS TO BE IMPOSSIBLE and I am going crazy!!!!!

More info: “Remove Effects” doesn’t seem to work on master clips–it’s greyed out in the Clip menu whether I have one master clip selected or 20.

    Please help!!!

    Hi Kate,
I’m having the same problem. Did you work out a solution to this?

    Thanks!

    Joe

More than four years later, this still seems to be a thing. I’m having a similar challenge. Did you ever figure out how to clear Master Clip Effects from multiple subclips?

Select them all in the project window or bin. Right click and select “Disable Master Clip Effects”.

I think they’re referring to clearing the master clips and not just disabling them. I haven’t found a way to batch clear effects. But if you don’t have a lot of clips in your timeline you can double click the clip and with the master clip panel selected go to the Lumetri panel and using the dropdown box select clear. This will remove it completely from the clip.

    Oh Hi Mark
