It falls into my day job as an online editor at a small indie, so yup, I have to do it. I’m pretty reasonable with AFX, so doing it the long route with keyframed masks. It took me just over an hour to get about a third of the way through, and it looks pretty decent so not too bad! I hoped there would be an easier way but never mind!
Cheers!

Ah, found it. It’s pretty limited, isn’t it? Feathery, key-framed masks it is, then. Cheers though!

Aha! Awesome, thank you! I’ll still have to redo them, but Title 3D was giving me funny looking results, so hopefully this’ll help me!
Cheers!

Hi,
Thank you all for your help. I got the BVM-20F1E in the end, and I’m very happy with it! It came without a manual (tried looking on the internet for this, any ideas?), so I’m not sure about the set up of it yet, but I think I’m pretty much there.
Cheers once again!

Is a SONY BVM-2015P any good? I probably should of said at the begining that I need this for colour grading on.
Cheers!

I’m currently using a rented PVM-20S1WE, which seems great, what are they like compared to that? Are they Pal compatible? My bosses have said they’d be willing to buy one if i can find it at a decent price.
What would it cost including UK shipping?
Finding a CRT monitor seems to be nigh on impossible…

That would be great, but would it ship to the UK and is it okay with PAL?

March 6, 2009 at 5:23 pm in reply to: Need Help with poor quality DVD from FCP project *TIGHT DEADLINE*Follow the instruction in my previous post, but to make sure your video is letterboxed, before pressing burn in DVD studio pro, click on the green “track” icon in the “graphical” window, in the bottom right of the screen is a window called “track” under teh “general” tab there should be a drop down menu marked “display mode”, choose “16:9” letterbox from this and now burn your disc.
Does that help?

March 6, 2009 at 4:41 pm in reply to: Need Help with poor quality DVD from FCP project *TIGHT DEADLINE*Don’t do HD, as you don’t get HD playback off DVD, so there’s no quality to gain from doing that. What version of fcp studio are using? And is at a Pal or NTSC project? What length? Will post instructions for you to use in compressor.
Alternatively, export as a DV Quicktime, and then open up DVD studio Pro, drag the QT from finder into the asset window (lower left in advanced window set-up). Delete the menu icon in the “Graphical” window on the top left, and ctrl click the green “track 1” icon, and set it as first play. Drag your QT on and click burn.
Job done!
