    I have a trick I use when creating a grid.
    1) Turn all clips being used in the grid into sub-sequences
    2) Do some math to figure out what the pixel size of each video needs to be. Example.. If you want a 2×3 grid on a 1920×1080 sequence, each video will need to be 640×540.
    3) Chance the sequence settings on each sub-sequence to reflect that pixel count you just calculated.
    4) Do a little more math to figure out how far each video needs to move to be in the desired position.
    5) Now you can move the clip around the sub-sequence for placement without having to crop anything!
